ILOG has introduced Elixir 2.0, the second generation of the visual components toolkit created for Adobe's Flex 3.0 platform. Elixir 2.0 includes new tools for rich calendars, heat maps, pivot charts, and includes four new modules that make it easy for developers to create and implement rich applications.
The full set of calendar displays, including interactive editing features, help developers creating custom shared schedules, build comprehensive project management displays with the new Gantt Task charts, and better visualize how large data sets are spread across geographies using heat maps. In addition, OLAP and pivot charts are essential building blocks for new kinds of BI and data analysis displays to visually analyze large data sets, trends and outliers with data clustering and drill down.
Elixir is tightly integrated with Flex Builder, the Eclipse-based IDE for Adobe Flex and AIR. Developers can drag and drop Elixir components into place and set their properties from within Flex Builder as for any other standard Flex components. To further customize the components, ILOG Elixir also provides a fully documented API, which comes complete with source code and documentation, to enable Flex developers to produce the exact look and behavior desired by their end users.
