Free Login to Linux for the Mainframe
With all my talk about Linux on z/Architecture mainframes, I'm not sure I have mentioned that you can have a developer instance for 30-90 days for free on IBM's Linux Community Development System.
Just sign up and they'll provision you a RedHat-64 or SUSE instance so you can try compiling any project you might wish to make sure can be ported to Linux on the mainframe.
I'm compiling ObjectRexx right now on my instance. If programming is Art to you as well as Science, there is something majestic about Linux running on the Z.
