Is Java becoming annoying?

Just some days ago I wrote a small article on my blog named "Why Grails is really matters for a Java Developer (and actually saves JEE from boredom)", wich can be accessed here: http://www.itexto.net/devkico/?p=344

I've got an amazingly interesting feedback from developers all around the world about the issue, wich basically is not about Grails, but about how boring has became to develop web applications on the Java platform.

 So now here comes my question: is Java, wich once was so exciting becoming annoying?
