CollabNet news this week points to a firm called Tech Mahindra, a company that has launched a new offering for enterprise software development teams called ADOPT (Agile DevOps Process Transformation), which is built on the CollabNet TeamForge framework.
ADOPT is intended for distributed Agile teams and incorporates Agile practices, Application Lifecycle Management, continuous integration, and delivery.
IDC's lifecycle guru Melinda Ballou says that effective governance "remains elusive" in this market. "Providing specific process template guidance and automation and support across phases is key to managing execution well with velocity and agility," she said.
ADOPT is an integrated software development and delivery solution that fosters an (take a deep breath now) "incrementally streamlined collaborative approach" to software development. So what on Earth does that mean?
According to the firms here, this is all about allowing distributed workgroups the freedom to choose the tools and processes that are most apt to the specific project needs.
CollabNet's APAC GM David Parker says that ADOPT provides integration of process and tools including service simulation, environment provisioning, and release automation.
ADOPT comes with option of multiple native integrated tools and an open architecture allowing integration with existing tools. ADOPT is offered through a predefined catalog of services, including: idea to task, task to package, and package to deployment.
