Oracle Ships New Software For Manufacturers

E-Business Suite Release 12 updates the software's approach to supply chains, operations, and customer accounts.

Oracle on Monday unveiled a number of enhancements to its e-business enterprise management software, including several features designed to allow manufacturers to lower operating costs and improve efficiency.

Among the additions to its E-Business Suite Release 12 software, Oracle's new manufacturing execution system for process manufacturing gives manufacturers an integrated, global view of their supply chains, operations, and customer accounts, Oracle said.

E-Business Suite R12 also includes enhancements to Oracle's warehouse management application, including a module that allows users to more precisely match warehouse inventories with customer demand.

The software is available immediately, Oracle said. Licensing prices weren't discussed.

Separately, Oracle on Monday announced that ON Telecoms, a new communications service provider in Greece, has implemented Oracle's communications billing and revenue management software to expedite its entry into the market for combined Internet, cable TV, and phone offerings.

Oracle also provided ON Telecoms with application training during its rollout of the software, which allowed the service provider to quickly create a unified billing system for a diverse range of offerings, according to Oracle.
