PC Magazine's April issue had an article titled Behind the Green Curtain, which included a sidebar with the heading Amber Waves of E-Waste . It contained this rather alarming statistic:
A pile of our obsolete computers could make a 22-story mountain that covers the entire 472 square miles of the city of Los Angeles.Wow! Pretty scary if it's really true - there goes Dodger Stadium, Staples Center, CTU Headquarters, and more. But do the numbers really add up?
