Microsoft on Monday posted the network install version of Windows XP Service Pack 2, but individuals are still waiting for the update.

The Windows XP Service Pack 2 Network Installation Package for IT Professionals and Developers, which tips the megabyte scales at an impressive 272, is "intended for IT professionals and developers downloading and installing on multiple computers on a network," said Microsoft. Currently, only English and German versions are available.

The more petite SP2 download for updating one computer, however, has not yet made it to Microsoft's Windows Update site. The company said it would be available "soon."

Last week when Microsoft released SP2 to manufacturing, it urged end users to turn on Automatic Update to cushion the impact of the update's impact on download servers.
