OpenMake Software has announced the 7.5 release of its Dynamic DevOps suite comprised of the Meister build automation, Mojo workflow management, and Cloudbuilder provisioning products.
Also featuring the Deploy + tool, this collection is what OpenMake describes as "a consolidated toolchain for process automation" to handle continuous build and continuous deployment tasks.
Tracy Ragan, COO of OpenMake, says that her team has expanded its model-driven framework for managing builds into the deployment realm. The tool aims to reduce the use of one-off build and deploy scripts — this is hoped to deliver a more reliable and transparent method of delivering binaries.
"The Dynamic DevOps Suite includes both Build Services and Deploy Services that a create standard process for building and deploying applications. It includes standard models for delivering to WebSphere, Tomcat, and Microsoft IIS and other common server environments. Standard process workflows can be defined and reused across the development to production environments with dynamic changes addressing the uniqueness of each environment," said Ragan.
The firm's CTO Steve Taylor says that dynamism is important because his team seeks to defining a reusable, standardized process across the lifecycle from build through to deploy — and that this is the ultimate goal in DevOps.
"Changes between environments for builds, test execution, and deployments should be addressed dynamically, without human intervention or one-off scripts. We achieve this level of automation for build and now deployments with our 7.5 release," explains Taylor.
