"The unprecedented explosion in data complexity and volumes, along with fast-growing demand for sophisticated analytics, present both opportunities and threats," said Ray Wang, chief executive officer and principal analyst at Constellation Research.
"As social, mobile, and cloud converge in the enterprise, organizations can innovate and expand, or be displaced by those that do. The data-driven world demands that organizations adopt a modern, purpose-built big data analytics infrastructure that can mean the difference between market success and failure," said Wang.
Actian's bid is to provide an end-to-end platform (i.e., one that works from data connection through preparation and analytics), all the way to automated action by exploiting advances in chips, cores, and clusters.
Actian DataCloud is an elastic cloud-based platform that integrates cloud and on-premises applications while providing data quality and other data services. The ParAccel Big Data Analytics Platform has high-speed execution for data provisioning, data discovery, and native Hadoop analytics. It also has expanded analytic libraries for rapid deployment of targeted analytics for specific requirements including customer segmentation, fraud prevention, risk, and digital marketing optimization.
"We believe that every company, no matter its size, should harness the promise of big data and analytics, and we've invested hundreds of man-years and millions of dollars to deliver two scalable, completely modern platforms that marry our decades of data expertise with innovative, cutting-edge architectures," said Steve Shine, chief executive officer of Actian. "To win in the Age of Data, organizations must become action-enabled enterprises with access to unconstrained analytics and frictionless data integration."
