Jolt Awards 2013: The Best Programmer Libraries, March 26, 2013 The best programmer libraries of the past year
Finalist: Combit List & Label 18
If you're looking for a powerful and intuitive list and label report generator, but don't need the cost or complexity of Crystal Reports, Combit's List & Label 18 is ideal for .NET, C++, and Delphi developers. In addition to List & Label's support for a wide variety of reports, charts, gauges, labels, and more than 50 types of barcode formats, it spans a broad range of reporting needs. And unlike other Windows-centric reporting solutions, List & Label doesn't need to install additional end-user database drivers. As such, its redistribution package is roughly 30 MB in size, making it amazingly lightweight in what has been an application category traditionally accompanied by bulky dependencies. List & Label's Report Designer is presented almost in logical IDE-style fashion, making the creation of new reports a mostly drag-and-drop affair. Combit has also dialed up printing performance in this release, with well over 50% speed improvement from prior releases. Our only hesitation is a pricing model based on per-employee billing (regardless of whether the employees actually use the software), rather than the more conventional per developer or per user pricing.
