Parasoft's latest software testing augmentations to its core solution are, according to the company, designed to deliver a new 360-degree view of manual developer test and verification efforts for greater programmer productivity.

By automatically correlating manual test procedure results to requirements, code, tasks, artifacts and development owner, the company says that the resulting automated workflow then notifies the appropriate parties when action is needed.

Parasoft claims that its new approach to manual testing will be based around the proposition to offer developers change-based testing, requirements-based testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD) -- and that the sum total of these technologies will represent a gateway towards Agile development under an inherently iterative methodology.

"Traditionally, we observe clients spending a significant amount of time documenting an error or chasing down the correct resource to fix an error," Parasoft's Wayne Ariola. "Parasoft's manual testing solution allows organizations to bypass these unproductive steps by integrating manual testing into the entire software development process. There is no downtime: everyone is working from the same resource that is easily retrieved, reviewed and repeated. This adds consistency and repeatability to a process that traditionally lacks it."
