Jolt Awards: Utilities
, July 24, 2012 The Jolt judges combed through more than 40 products to find the very best developer utilities. We now reveal the Jolt Award winner and the runners-up.
The best handy utilities for developers
You know those handy little tools and single-purpose pieces of software that we all rely on to take care of discrete tasks? We love those tools. Generally compact, useful, and well tuned to their one purpose, they represent some of the most practical pieces of software in our toolboxes. In this round of the Jolt Awards, we examined more than 30 of these utilities and came up with the top six products. Two of those won our Jolt Productivity Award, and one utility garnered the grand prize, the 2012 Jolt Award. Not every utility here is helpful to every developer, but we think that among these gems, you'll find some that can truly help you in your day-to-day work.
The Jolt Judges for this category were: Andrew Binstock, Robert del Rossi, Gary Evans, David Mulcihy, Mike Potts, Mike Riley, Rick Wayne, and Peter Westerman.
