I'm consulting for a company that's on the list to receive early access releases of JavaFX 2.0. In fact, we took delivery of the first software drop last week. My first impression? Impressive! Both my client and I are very excited by it. Since June, we've been building custom JavaFX 1.3.1 components and integrating them into an existing enterprise Swing application. Although I had to work some magic of my own to get JavaFX working with Swing, JavaFX 2.0 promises to officially support Swing integration.
As we continue to work with JavaFX 2.0, I plan to blog about the experience here. Follow my blog throughout the process to get exclusive insight into Oracle's next generation Java client API. For now, you can find the JavaFX 2.0 roadmap here.
Happy coding! -EJB
