Champions of the PHP dynamic web application programming language, Zend Technologies has updated its Zend Server and Zend Server Cluster Manager. The company's core product offerings have both been extended with Linux support in answer to the growing base of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server installations.
Now boasting ramped up troubleshooting support, Zend Server 5.0.3 is described as an 'application stack' comprising of PHP itself, the Zend Framework, extensions, drivers and a set of application management tools such as performance optimization.
Zend Server Cluster Manager 5.0.3 is intended to extend Zend Server, adding high availability and centralized management for multi-server PHP application deployments. With the new release, the company says that users of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server can leverage Zend Server and Zend Server Cluster Manager to run high-performance, scalable web applications on-premise or in the cloud.
According to Zend, Zend Server captures the full execution history of an application in real-time -- in production or in the test lab -- so developers can quickly find the root cause of application issues without spending time on recreating problems. Zend Server 5.0.3 simplifies the communication of captured trace data files from the production environment and enables better navigation through trace trees. Thereby reducing the time developers spend on determining the root cause of performance issues and functional errors."
