2013 Developer Salary Survey
, November 05, 2013 Our survey of more than 3,000 developers and managers shows that after several years of being flat, salaries are on the rise once again
Gender
While we can argue about the dwindling salaries due to age, there is no arguing the enormity of the gender salary gap. It is not enough to consider the differences in absolute terms (-14% for staff); rather, it is important to note that 2013 was the first year that women made more in salary than they did in 2010. Meanwhile, their male counterparts enjoyed salary increases every year. This disgraceful disparity lays bare the false but cherished belief that our profession is at its core a meritocracy.
