Group Business Software has pushed its GROUP Live Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) product to now support VMware. The product is designed to enable more efficient application automation in environments where developers are looking to integrate VMware environments into private or public clouds in a short space of time using existing infrastructures.
Intended to automate cloud delivery processes such as networking rules, security, user management, and monitoring, GROUP Live also potentially offers a central, web-enabled management layer for VMware environments. The product does this while extending the capabilities of the existing VMware technologies for cloud computing. This means developers can deliver their applications through the cloud (i.e. SaaS) without making any changes to their code.
According to Group Business Software, "Using GROUP Live, VMware users can implement their own private cloud from an existing VMware infrastructure and, where required, integrate it into their own intranet. This brings together isolated environments under a central management platform so you are able to manage both the entire cloud ecosystem and the virtual business infrastructure through a single interface. In addition, customers are provided with comprehensive monitoring and reporting features to control their VMware environments in the cloud."
