Intel says it is delaying the commercial release of its Larrabee graphics processor and has not set a new launch date. With original plans calling for the release of a Larrabee-based devices such as video cards or GPGPU compute parts sometime in 2010, Intel says development is behind schedule. No reasons for delays was given.
Still, Intel says that it is committed to delivering the processor and will divulge plans for software development samples and tools next year.
It is worth noting that the "Larrabee project" has not been canceled, only the release of retail Larrabee-based components like graphics cards. Intel says it will continue to develop the GPU..
