The addition of the hotspots is part of a makeover by the motel chain. The chain said in a statement that adding Wi-Fi service is part of a $200 million redesign of its properties, aiming them more at business travelers.
The wireless service will be available in guest rooms and common areas. The companies provided no timetable for the deployment of the wireless service. T-Mobile now claims it currently has more than 7,000 hotspots in locations such as Starbucks coffee shops and Borders book stores.
