Aladdin Beefs Up .NET SecuritySecurity vendor releases Version 2.5
Aladdin Knowledge Systems has released Version 2.5 of its HASP Software Rights Management software. HASP SRM 2.50 incorporates several new features to secure software across a variety of platforms, including .NET Framework 3.0. The software also offers integration of HASP SRM licensing processes with existing ERP/CRM systems, as well as enhancements to license-monitoring and management tools for system administrators and end users.
HASP SRM 2.50's Envelope -- an automatic protection tool for software developers -- increases security of .NET applications. The .NET Envelope for Framework 3.0 enables HASP to automatically protect software to the Method-level and assign licenses to chosen Methods on Frameworks 2.0 and 3.0. Method-level encryption is the highest level of security available in a DRM product. Using the HASP SRM 2.50 Envelope, a mouse click lets software vendors apply automatic protection and licensing to each Method individually -- a capability that no longer requires you to access the source code to incorporate calls to the protection system. Aladdin HASP SRM 2.50 protects .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.0 .EXE and .DLL files via the HASP HL or HASP SL key. HASP SRM Business Studio Server is a role-based business tool for managing the software license lifecycle. HASP SRM 2.50 includes a Business Studio Server API that lets software publishers integrate Business Studio functionality into the ISV's back-end CRM and ERP systems, including the ability to create license orders, produce license updates and product keys, as well as track customer records. Since the software licensing and sales processes are integrated using the HASP SRM Business Studio API, publishers gain richer, centralized customer information. "HASP SRM v 2.50 greatly increases the breadth of HASP SRM's digital rights management capabilities, providing software developers with an even more inclusive software security solution to address their evolving needs," said Avi Barir, vice president of software DRM for Aladdin Knowledge Systems. "Featuring capabilities not offered by competitive solutions, HASP has maintained its position at the forefront of the DRM market due to Aladdin's consistent commitment to anticipating the needs of software developers."
