Real-Time Innovations has introduced Case + Code, a developer tool built to provide use cases, coding, and configuration for complex distributed systems.
Building distributed systems with low-latency and/or massive scalability isn't usually simple, so RTI Connext Data Distribution Service (DDS) acts as what is basically high-performance middleware solution. Then comes Case + Code as a collection of common use cases with reusable working DDS code and configuration guidance.
The core proposition here is: Take data uses from a data-distribution problem to a working application.
The vehicle tracking use case applies to developers trying to distribute vehicle location or radar track data across a network, in real-time.
According to its makers, whether the job is creating an air traffic control system, tracking trains, unmanned air vehicles in the arena, or a fleet of emergency vehicles responding to a crisis, this solution allows users to send updates about many vehicles, and to tune their systems for sending those updates at very high rates.
The Real-Time LAN Data Over a WAN use case applies to those trying to connect multiple real-time local networks together, or a single real-time local network to another network over a wide area network (WAN).
"The RTI Case + Code solution supports scenarios where each local area network (LAN) site may be a cluster of many RTI Connext DDS applications distributing large amounts of data that should not be sent across the WAN. This solution also supports scenarios where sites are geographically distant from each other, and where bandwidth must be conserved," said the company.
There is also distributed video data as a use case for streaming video, audio, or other streaming media to one or more receivers. This solution supports scenarios with one or more data sources, and one or more receivers of data streams.
