Jaspersoft has enhanced its Jaspersoft BI Enterprise Suite with upgraded data integration (DI) capabilities. The company trades on a claim of being the world's most widely used business intelligence (BI) software and says that industry analysts have recognized its product as a leading open-source data integration environment. From this position, Jaspersoft also claims that ETL Enterprise is capable of delivering enterprise-level BI capabilities that cost 80 percent less than traditional, proprietary vendors.
The company has tried to highlight the flexibility of the architecture that Jaspersoft ETL Enterprise is built upon, noting that this agility lets customers take advantage of a library of 450+ components to help manage the more difficult ETL jobs. It also gives customers the option of deploying or embedding ETL into their applications.
Jaspersoft ETL is designed to support "BI Builders" -- a self-coined term that the company uses to denote the collective group of developers, IT professionals, and consultants tasked with creating web-based, customized analytics and reporting solutions embedded within a production application or running as a standalone application.
"For companies looking to derive competitive advantage and new operational insight from their data, the ability to quickly access and visualize information from many different sources is paramount," said Brian Gentile, Jaspersoft CEO. "Our Jaspersoft ETL offering represents an opportunity for developers to build an even greater end-to-end BI suite for moving, managing, reporting, and analyzing data."
Jaspersoft ETL Enterprise capabilities include:
- Central repository for collaborative job design, change data capture, and sophisticated error recovery for improved availability;
- Flexible architecture, providing hundreds of data and application connectors powered by a distributed execution engine for improved performance and efficient hardware utilization;
- Centralized monitoring and management tools giving visibility into the design, deployment, and performance of data integration jobs; and
- Event-based triggers to automate job execution for real-time data synchronization.
