Gamifying A Full Body Motion Control SDK


Herzelia, Israel, is not a place you might think of for software application development. But this is where Extreme Reality has created a new Developer Zone and has opened its SDK to enable developers to freely evaluate how its motion control technology integrates into their games and apps.

NOTE: This adds full-body, software-based, motion analysis and control to any computing device or operating system via a standard camera. The SDK supports Unity, C++, and C# programming languages for multiple operating systems, including iOS, Windows7, and WinRT.

This technology effectively enables developers to add motion experiences to existing games or applications, and to create a wide range of new experiences (applications, games, security solutions, and more) that pioneer Natural User Interfaces (NUI) when used.

Potentially, this breaks the physical barriers of current hardware-based technologies in this space.

Several game developers, including SEGA, have integrated the Extreme Motion SDK into games over a variety of operating systems and devices to create a touchless motion-controlled gaming experience, similar to existing console games, but that work on any device that has a camera.

Extreme Motion explains that its SDK is offered to developers via a revenue share agreement — this model enables developers, from a college student developing a game in his dorm room to some of the top global gaming brands, to get involved.
