Infragistics has released NetAdvantage for Visual Studio LightSwitch, a user interface related Silverlight-based development product that relies on NetAdvantage tools, shells, and themes. The product is designed to give developers a chance to build and share business applications on the desktop, browser, and the cloud.
With this offering Infragistics introduces the optimized data visualizations of the Data Chart and Gauge controls. The Data Chart is designed for large datasets ranging into the millions of data points and includes zooming and range selection features. The control also includes the ability to add chart layers to Area Series, Column Series, Line Series, Spline Series, Spline Area Series, Step Area Series, Step Line Series, and Pie Charts with ease and elegance.
"NetAdvantage for LightSwitch extends the LightSwitch 'toolbox' with UI controls, shells, and themes that enable customers to incorporate code-free dashboards and rich data visualizations into applications quickly," said Dean Guida, CEO of Infragistics.
"The LightSwitch development environment provides a pragmatic approach to application development and our leading XAML controls and market experience enables business users and developers to build and augment applications that deliver the best user experiences possible," said Guida.
Infragistics says that developers can achieve rich editing experiences through controls like the Infragistics Slider, Mask, and Numeric Editors, as well as geospatial and thematic mapping scenarios through the Map control, with capabilities to visualize anything from seating to floor plans to warehouse contents.
Rounding out the NetAdvantage for Visual Studio LightSwitch offering is a custom shell extension, as well as unique themes that go beyond the standard or default themes currently available in LightSwitch.
