AccuRev version 6.0 arrives this month with enhancements for multi-stage continuous integration and delivery. The application lifecycle software company says that developers will now need Agile and continuous delivery where complex, parallel software development processes need scalability, automation, and simplicity for faster processes.
If that "complex, parallel, and automated" element explains what so-called multi-stage continuous delivery is, then so be it. The firm has here provided expanded automation using change-based development: The automation around tracking and propagating stories, issues, and issue dependencies by leveraging Change Packages makes it easier for developers to develop and manage change at the business value level…as opposed to the file level and for management to see where each enhancement or issue is in the process.
Enhancements have been made throughout the user and command-line interfaces, including enhanced browser modes, flexible layout options, refined search capabilities, and a simplified incoming and outgoing mode for detecting changes, making navigation and daily development even easier.
"AccuRev's point-and-click display is designed to highlight issues, enhancements, and stories they need to work on and get coding immediately," said Peter Shields, president and CEO of AccuRev.
"With AccuRev 6.0 and its continuous integration functionality, developers are able to focus on what they love most — writing code — and not on administrative work. This enables companies to deliver software releases faster and at the highest quality."
