A Look at the Main JVM Languages Today

Kotlin

Kotlin is the most recent addition to the JVM family. It takes some of the best elements of Grooy and Scala and adds a little pixie dust of its own. It's designed to compile as fast as Java and run at native Java binary speeds, making it one of the only JVM languages to address both compilation and execution speed from the first release. Dr. Dobb's has assembled a page of Kotlin resources (including a detailed introduction).
