The Swedish development team behind this software says that the tool is targeted at Mac developers in "large and diverse organizations" who may be distributed across the globe. Hansoft is intended to allow programmers in these environments to work together in true real-time.
"Teams using Hansoft have typically used another Agile tool before. The most common reason they migrate to Hansoft is the fast native interface being 10-100x faster than a web tool," said Patric Palm, Hansoft CEO.
"With the release of Hansoft native OS X client and server, we are bringing the same experience to the rapidly growing community of developers using Mac," he added.
Aside from Hansoft's marketing-spun "team empowerment" messages, this is actually an interesting tool in terms of its ability to allow large organizations to combine different methodologies side by side, developing for and on different platforms.
Hansoft has a feature set spanning over Agile ALM (Application Lifecycle Management), PPM (Product Portfolio and Program Management), and Social Collaboration.
Features in the software include a prioritized to-do list for all team members; Agile, Lean, and Gantt-scheduling side by side in one view; tasks can be converted between scheduled and Agile planning; it is flexible to suit any method but includes templates for Scrum and Extreme Programming; plus it is available natively on Windows and OS X.
