Dynamsoft has released version 9.3 of its ImageCapture Suite SDK with an integrated rasterizer add-on to convert PDF files into images and a barcode generator to add 1D/2D barcodes to images.
The concept here is a document imaging SDK for developers to create web-based document management and enterprise content management (ECM) applications.
Applications with heavy scanning and digital document management in this sphere would typically be found in areas like healthcare, finance, and government.
Developers using this 9.3 version to include the new PDF rasterizer within a web application can allow users to convert plain text and image-text PDF documents into a JPEG/TIF/PNG image or image PDF. This means that PDF documents can be refashioned for viewing and editing within a web page.
"The new barcode generator SDK enables developers to add 1D/2D barcodes to images captured from scanners or webcams. ImageCapture Suite 9.3 also provides a built-in barcode reader and an optical character recognition (OCR) engine," said Amy Gu, VP of Dynamsoft.
Gu also points out that her firm's software ensures compatibility with all mainstream browsers for use on Windows or Mac. Browsers supported include 32-bit and 64-bit Internet Explorer (IE); Firefox; Chrome; Safari; and Opera.
"The SDK enables developers to create image acquisition web applications using just a few lines of code. This is instead of needing to code hundreds of lines from scratch and spending months learning the TWAIN and other standards. The SDK has built-in support for image rotate, crop, and zoom in/out," said the company.
