Sun Names "Metro" Web-Services Stack

The GlassFish V2 platform web stack, previously called "JAX-WS RI + Project Tango," was released as a Milestone 5 beta

Sun Microsystems has released "Metro 1.0 M5," a web-services framework for Glassfish V2 based platforms. Metro is a bundling of the JAX-WS API and Web Services Interoperability Technology (WSIT), along with consolidated docs and samples.

Sun has also provided a number of screencasts demoing Metro's components, including Enabling Distributed Transactions Between Glassfish and .Net 3.0, with Ryan Schoemaker, Suns' Implementation Lead for the WS-Coordination functionality in WSIT. More information is available on blogs from some of the Metro team members: Kohsuke Kawaguchi, Harold Carr , and Arun Gupta.
