Productivity Award: Telerik TestStudio

Telerik Test Studio is a modern and comprehensive Windows-based testing one-stop shop. It covers all testing needs and diverse approaches to testing. With it, you can create, manage, and execute manual tests, load tests, Web testing, and Web performance tests — all of which you can display in a visual editor or have Test Studio partially generate.

Its scope includes WPF applications, Web applications (functional and load tests), and Silverlight applications. Telerik Test Studio is a standalone product with a very slick UI for dedicated QA personnel, but it also offers a strong integration with Visual Studio for developers (as a plugin). The test recording functionality, combined with tools like the DOM explorer and Element explorer, provides ultimate control over complicated workflows in a friendly user interface. Telerik Test Studio is very impressive, but it still can improve in some areas, such as support for testing headless APIs that just return JSON, and more streamlined handling of AJAX-based Web applications. Overall, however, Telerik Test Studio is an excellent tool for teams that focus on high quality on the Windows platform.
