Nevron Vision For SSRS 2014.1

Nevron Software has announced its Vision for SSRS 2014.1 product. This suite of data visualization controls for SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) has been updated, with special attention paid to optimizing the speed of report items in order to minimize the time needed to read large datasets.

The Nevron team has also added some advanced enhancements; i.e., the Chart report item now uses the Nevron Chart for .NET 2014.1 charting engine. The company says that this leads to performance improvements in "nearly all" charting types, including 3D.

The Chart report item now has full support for what Nevron has dubbed "Calculated Series". These are line series that are attached to a master series and display a trend line or formula that is based on the master series values.

In the 2014.1 edition, Nevron added support for the following calculated series formulas: Min, Max, Median, Cumulative, Exponential Average, Root Mean Average, Chaikins Volatility plus Moving Average Convergence Divergence, Stochastic Oscillator, and others.

The Chart report item now has built-in support for grouping pie slices that are below a certain value or percent in an "Others" group. The "Others" group label, appearance, and action is also fully controllable. The "Others" group feature greatly increases the readability of pie charts with multiple small slices.
