ActiveState has released Version 5.0 of its Komodo IDE which has been optimized for team development. Komodo IDE 5.0 is built on the Mozilla 1.9 branch, the same code base Firefox 3.0 is built on. This includes a number of bug fixes and performance improvements, and provides a more platform-native look-and-feel. With the 5.0 release, Komodo open multiple top-level windows, letting you configure your workspace the way you want when editing or debugging. Other features include:
- Support for the Git, Mercurial (hg), and Bazaar distributed version control systems (or the already supported Subversion, Perforce, and CVS). You can share your code with whichever SCC system you choose. Smart cross-SCC system checkout wizardry makes it easier to get to work on shared repositories.
- Code Formatting: Configurable commands for formatting selections and documents.
- SCC Checkout: A new interface for checking out working copies of a repository from within Komodo.
- Multiple top-level windows, slicker UIs for tabs and sidebars.
