Two Days of C++ with Bjarne Stroustrup and Herb Sutter
Bjarne Stroustrup, the creator of C++, and long-time Dr. Dobb's contributor Herb Sutter, who now is one of the heads of the Visual C++ team at Microsoft, are going to be presenting a two-day intensive session on C++. Unlike boot camps, which teach neophytes a new technology, this "Super C++ Tutorial" is oriented to developers who already have working knowledge of C++ but want to gain greater depth. The topics are wide-ranging: generic programming, concurrency, making best use of the new features in C++11, and discussion of what's coming up in C++14. In addition, Bjarne and Herb will be covering advanced features of the standard C++ libraries. The format is a single track in which Stroustrup and Sutter present together and, at other times, alternate teaching sessions. Panel discussions will be part of the mix at the end of the day for the brave souls who want even more C++.
It's being held March 31 and April 1 in San Jose, California, as part of EE Live, the conference hosted by our sister publication, EE Times. The schedule of sessions and registration info are posted. I'll be attending and hope to see you there!
