Cape Clear Announces CapeConnect 3.5

Cape Clear Software has released CapeConnect 3.5, a Web Services platform featuring full support for Microsoft Visual Studio. CapeConnect allows developers to automatically expose existing Java, EJB, .NET, and CORBA components as Web Services without writing code. CapeConnect is capable of connecting a range of technologies (including Java, J2EE, CORBA, C++, COM, C#, Visual Basic, and Perl) using Web Services standards such as SOAP, WSDL, and UDDI. CapeConnect 3.5 enables SQL databases to be exposed as Web Services, allowing the rapid prototyping of Web Services to access enterprise data. ASNA Launches AVR for .Net

ASNA has released AVR for .Net, an integrated development environment for creating enterprise Web, Windows and .Net applications. AVR for .Net leverages current language skills, while anticipating emerging technologies such as XML and Web services.

Crystal Decisions Releases Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .Net

Crystal Decisions has announced that Crystal Reports will be included in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. Not available as a standalone product, Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .Net is a special edition that will be fully integrated into Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. Crystal Decisions worked closely with Microsoft to develop a special edition of Crystal Reports that enables web developers to create interactive reports for enterprise web applications from within Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. Interactive reports can be shared over the internet through Crystal Decisions’ Business Intelligence Web Services to enable enterprise customers or business partners to host reports inside their own applications.

Lugaru Software Releases Epsilon Programmer’s Editor v11

Northwoods Software Launches Go.NET

Northwoods Software has launched Go.NET, a revision of its C++ and Java diagramming components written entirely in C#, to fully support the .NET platform. It only depends on the standard .NET Framework classes and does not explicitly call any external functions.

Go.NET provides a variety of basic graphical objects such as rectangles, ellipses, polygons, text, images, and lines. Objects can be grouped together to form more complex objects. Their appearances and behaviors can be customize by setting properties and overriding methods.

The Go.NET library, Northwoods.Go, is a set of controls and classes built on the .NET platform. Go.NET can deliver editors that allow users to see and manipulate diagrams of two-dimensional graphical objects arranged in a scrollable window.

WhiteTown Software Offers CDBF 1.0 for Windows

WhiteTown Software has launched CDBF 1.0 for Windows, a viewer and DBF-format files editor. CDBF makes no distinction between viewing and editing modes, allowing the user to perform any actions with the database in use. The program also allows viewing and editing of memo fields in dBase III, dBase IV, FoxPro, and VFP formats. A memo field type is identified automatically. CDBF allows users to export data to TXT, PRG, XLS, SQL, DBF formats. In addition, the features can be expanded with plugins. Also, a built-in visual report designer allows the user to create and print reports.

Novosoft Announces Web Roller

Novosoft has released Web Roller, a Windows load-testing tool for determining Internet/intranet system performance and behavior under the stress of high user loads. Web Roller records user activity in terms of HTTP requests and creates a simple script. The developer can modify the script using embedded test data generating capabilities. In addition, the developer can set various parameters for requests and the script, and then run script or a batch of scripts. It creates a substantial load on web and application servers and identifies performance problems associated with the system server. Charts and reports provide information about application performance.

Vital Delivers CRiSP v8.0

Vital, Inc. has released CRiSP v8.0, a visual text editor for Unix and Windows. More than just a simple text editor, CRiSP is a development environment that was designed to increase productivity by streamlining the process of program editing.

CRiSP v8.0 offers features such as context tagging and navigation. Additional features include the auto-parameter/section help, new dynamic search technologies, and proximity search and replace capabilities for multiple files and buffers. The development of FTP client editing provides access to files via remote login, and users can create and run multiple sessions at once.

AD Software Introduces OOFILE 1.4

AD Software has released OOFILE v1.4, a cross-platform C++ application development library upgrade, for MacOS/X, Mac Classic, Windows, and Unix. OOFILE is a family of C++ application frameworks providing a database API, report-writer, graphing and forms interfaces. OOFILE features a range of database backends including the Professional version using Faircom’s c-tree Plus ISAM engine.

This release is compatible with CodeWarrior Pro7.1 and Visual C++ v6. This is the first fully Carbonised release that will run natively on Mac OS/X. Most versions of OOFILE are Open Source. Version 1.4, the commercial dBase-compatible and c-tree Plus database backends, are being offered for $950 without c-tree and $1,599 with c-tree Plus. Dart Communications Announces PowerTCP FTP Objects for .Net

Dart Communications has released PowerTCP FTP objects for Microsoft .NET, which extend the native Microsoft .NET Framework with managed code FTP protocol support.
