Infragistics Updates .NET Toolset



Infragistics has announced NetAdvantage for .NET 2010 Volume 1. NetAdvantage for .NET is a suite of controls, components, and tools for Windows Forms, WPF, ASP.NET and Silverlight that now supports of Windows 7 and Visual Studio 2010.

With VS2010 support, the Windows Forms tools include in-process side-by-side hosting, multi-touch support for default gestures in Windows 7. Several features have been added to this toolset such as WinGanttView providing "drop in" stylable Microsoft Project functionally and Windows 7 Scenic Ribbon that updates legacy Windows Forms applications with the newest Windows 7 Styles. Also new, the WinMessageBoxManager and the WinActivityIndicator notify end users about application messages and long-running background processing.

With .NET Framework 4.0 and VS2010 support, Infragistics has introduced several WPF controls such as the new xamTilesControl, an animated, interactive layout container consisting of collapsible tiles that end users can slide and move around and xamDataCards that presents all manner of data in a high-fidelity faceted user interface of cards.

The ASP.NET toolset support includes VS2010 functionality for theJavaScript IntelliSense engine, "One Click Deployment", Silverlight integration into ASP.NET projects, and SharePoint design-time integration into the ASP.NET toolset. The new WebTab AJAX-enabled out-of-the-box control supports all ASP.NET AJAX controls inside of its template area and adds functionality. WebExplorerBar, a lightweight ASP.NET AJAX multi-style control works superbly in browsers like Google Chrome and adds numerous capabilities such as animated expandable and collapsible groups and robust data binding support.

Infragistics' Visual Studio 2010 supports also includes support for Silverlight. By investing in a WYSIWYG drag-and-drop design surface, full property browsing support and enhanced debugging, provides a Silverlight design-time experience that Windows Forms and ASP.NET developers have been accustomed to in Visual Studio. With new Windows 7 Scenic Ribbon support in xamWebRibbon, developers can design RIAs using the Aero-style ribbon in Silverlight. The xamWebComboEditor enables binding to a flat list of items from which end users can either enter values into the editable field or select them from a dropdown list. Also new are the Persistence Framework and the Infragistics.Compression compiled assembly as well as UI Automation Support that helps Silverlight Line of Business UI controls interact with Assistive Technology for accessibility by individuals with disabilities.
