Micro Focus has announced four developer tool releases that focus on developing, analyzing, and testing, and which will integrate with Visual Studio 2010. The tools include:
- Micro Focus COBOL, which lets developers exploit existing enterprise apps on the Microsoft platform. Most organizations that still operate COBOL-based applications now have a low risk opportunity to take advantage of Visual Studio 2010 without rewriting their applications.
- Silk4J, a tool for functional and regression test automation. Silk4J supports all applications, whether currently on a Microsoft platform or not.
- DevPartner, a suite that enables developers to debug, analyze, test, and tune applications for enhanced visibility into the inner workings of applications being developed within Visual Studio 2010.
- Analyzer Express, a visibility tool that will help developers accelerate their day-to-day maintenance activities. Analyzer Express traces data flow through a program with one click of the mouse from within Visual Studio 2010. Developers can quickly assess a program, find artifacts of interest, and make needed enhancements without switching tools.
