This week will see the release of a new PDF remodelling SDK for developers using the .NET Framework. Solid Documents describes itself as a specialist in the field of PDF conversion, reconstruction and archiving. The company's latest iteration of its Solid Framework .NET 7.0 is billed as an advance for developers who use its SDK to develop or integrate document reconstruction and archiving applications within their product set.

According to Solid Documents, the new SDK now supports additional platforms including Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010, Windows Server 2008 R2 and all the x64 variants.

While all technology professionals will appreciate the need to archive data efficiently, PDF documents are arguably quite "lean" as they stand. Solid Documents allows users to browse the content and internal structure of PDF files, modify viewer preferences and document info and change security (encryption, permissions and passwords). It also converts PDF files to Word, Excel, Powerpoint, HTML, Data (CSV) and plain text.
