Ispirer Systems has released an update its SQLWays cross-platform database and application. SQLWays 4.0 is capable of converting embedded SQL and database API code in Java, C/C++, ASP.NET, VB, PowerBuilder and other applications. Developers do not need to extract SQL statements from applications and convert them separately. SQLWays can parse application code -- Java, C++, PowerBuilder, and so on -- extract and convert SQL statements.
For C/C++ applications, SQLWays can convert not only SQL statements but database API as well. For example, SQLWays supports conversion between ODBC, Oracle OCI, Oracle Pro*C, Sybase CT/LIB and other interfaces.
"SQLWays 4.0 automates more migration tasks, and reduces the cost of database and application migration projects", says Ispirer's Dmitry Tolpeko. "Our goal is to provide intelligent and highly automated migration solutions to developers."
Besides embedded SQL and API conversion, SQLWays allow developers to migrate database schema, stored procedures, triggers between major databases including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, Sybase, Informix, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Teradata and others.
