The uberSVN application lifecycle management (ALM) platform, part of WANdisco's Apache Subversion-based software and services, now incorporates the latest certified Subversion 1.6.17 binaries.

WANdisco claims to have the highest number of active Subversion project developers on its staff. The company further claims that "thousands" of developers have downloaded its product and used it to combine their favorite open and closed source ALM applications into a single integrated platform with its repository and user management tools.

Attempting to reflect the communication channels popularized by social networking services, including Twitter and Facebook, the company has launched Subversion's first-ever social coding environment as a new tool known inside uberSVN itself.

"We believe uberSVN is much more than 'Subversion made easy'; the usability of this new platform is something WANdisco is really proud of," said David Richards, president and CEO of WANdisco. "The power of uberSVN incorporating the latest Apache Subversion binaries is quickly being realized within the developer community."

With uberSVN users have the freedom to choose the best open source and closed source applications for defect tracking, project management, build management, and other ALM functions and replace them at any time.

WANdisco says that uberSVN is organized around development teams. Each team has its own homepage that profiles the team members, lists the projects they're working on, repositories they're using, and their latest activity and status. Team members can then see each other's real-time progress by subscribing to Twitter-like feeds.
