The Odin Project launched a new online education program that offers aspiring web developers free online training. The project itself is targeted at total beginners, where they can learn web development for free.
The Odin team differentiates itself from other online resources (which either teach a narrow set of concepts or only go part way) by trying to lay out a "complete path" to take a student from being a total newbie to becoming hireable as a junior web developer.
The new training program includes a structured curriculum and offers the 1,000 hours of coding to train students to the point where they become employable.
The Odin Project was designed to give those with limited (money) resources a clear path to becoming hirable web developers with a high-quality education.
Project founder Erik Trautman says that the Odin Project was named after the Norse god, whose thirst for knowledge was legendary.
