Mathematica 1.0 was released 20 years ago today.

Mathematica 1.0 was released 20 years ago today.

My home state of Illinois and Wolfram Research's home city of Champaign have both proclaimed this day as "Mathematica Day" in recognition of the jobs and revenue generated from the company's products.   Check out the Mathematica Scrapbook, a pictorial time-line of the history of this program, as remarkable and relevant as it was two decades ago.  And stay tuned for more Mathematica coverage coming this Fall in preparation for DDJ's coverage of the International Mathematica User Conference 2008.
