What Does Dr. Dobb's Survey Have to do with Dr. Dobb's Virtual Event? Everything!
Dr. Dobb's, in cooperation with Forrester Research, wants to better understand how evolving tools and technologies are affecting the software developer community.
To help gain this understanding, we would appreciate it if you would take a few minutes to complete the Forrester-Dr. Dobb's 2010 Developer Technographics Survey. The brief 30-question survey should take you no more than 5-10 minutes to complete.
All respondents who complete the survey will be entered into a drawing for an Apple iPad. In addition, all respondents who complete the survey will also get a copy of the Forrester report, which summarizes the results -- a $750 value.
This survey is particularly important because it builds on last year's survey. As such, it not only provides a snapshot of the current state of affairs, but also enables us to map changing patterns in the developer community.
Your responses will only be reported in aggregate form. Although you do not need to provide your name and email address, you will have to provide this information in order to receive the complimentary Forrester report or be registered for the iPad drawing.
The deadline for completion is September 30, 2010.
Forrester Research analyst Jeffrey Hammonds will present the results of this survey in his keynote presentation at Dr. Dobb's SD 2.0 Virtual Event to be held on October 27, 2010.
In addition to Jeffrey's kick-off presentation, the Virtual Event will have two tracks: One on Mobile Development and the other on ALM. There will also be several more sessions presented by sponsors.
The Mobile Development will consist of presentations such as:
- Mobile Platform Overview by Eric Bruno
- Developing for the iPhone/iPad by Brandon Trebitowski
- Developing for Android by Mike Riley
In the ALM track, there will be:
- Agile Development by Scott Ambler
- Beyond SDLC by Mark Kennaley
- Testing: Getting It Right Before Release by Roy Osherove
So please take a few minutes to complete the Forrester-Dr. Dobb's 2010 Developer Technographics Survey before September 30, 2010.
And please register to join us at at Dr. Dobb's SD 2.0 Virtual Event on October 27, 2010 to hear the results of the survey.
