Cloud Email Is Sub-Par, A New Add-On Emerges

Email technology company Message Systems has introduced SparkPost, a new public cloud email service for developers to add email into web and mobile applications.

Message Systems insists that its Momentum platform (upon which this service is built) powers 20 percent of the world's "legitimate email" (as opposed to illegitimate presumably) for companies like Twitter, Groupon, and LinkedIn.

Designed for developers, SparkPost comes with a set of SMTP and REST APIs that allows them to leverage email in their web or mobile apps, regardless of language.

"Companies are being short-changed by existing low-end public cloud email infrastructure offerings," said Phillip Merrick, CEO of Message Systems. "Email is the most vital and universal communication channel to customers, yet today's cloud email service alternatives suffer from poor inbox delivery, limited actionable visibility into email delivery and engagement statistics, and sub-par support services."

With the world's 12,000+ ISPs setting their own unique policies and bounce codes for rejecting and regulating email in order to combat spam, companies face significant challenges in ensuring that their emails reach their intended audience.

With SparkPost, all customers will benefit from Message Systems' Adaptive Email Network, which uses the firm's knowledge of bounce codes and policies from ISPs covering over 90 percent of the world's email traffic.

In order to provide users with maximum visibility into their email engagement, SparkPost says it delivers analytics with over 40 metrics tracked in real-time, including opens, clicks, latency, bounce reports, and full engagement data. This data, along with the included highly visual analytic tools, gives customers deeper insight into their ongoing email performance than other cloud email services currently available.
