ENIAC

With its 18,000 vacuum tubes and 70,000 resistors, ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer) was originally designed to calculate firing tables for WWII artillery, but it wasn't completed until 1946. It was then reused for classified military applications, but it had to be rewired for each new task, a drawback that led to the concept of a program stored in memory.
