DevExpress Universal 11.2 (DX2)

Jolt Productivity Award

"You don't get a second chance to make a first impression. " And a first look at DevExpress's new DX2 release makes a very good impression, from its XAF application builder to each UI component.

DX2's payload is delivered with faithful UI consistency across WinForms, WPF, ASP.NET, and Silverlight platforms. Multi-touch capabilities and new Tile controls let developers produce applications visually compliant with the Windows 8 Metro interface.

DX2's ASP.NET controls not only incorporate AJAX MVC capabilities, they also provide multi-touch components that have the look and feel of native applications on iOS and iPad environments. Pinch/Zoom and one-finger swiping are all available in 12 ASP.NET application components.

On WinForms, WPF, and Silverlight, DevExpress delivers more than 250 controls, including the new Tile controls for Windows 8 interfaces. Live tiles are supported as application dashboards for data presentation, and each tile can be selected or moved with a one-finger drag.

DX2 Universal includes CodeRush (and Refactor Pro!), a productivity duo for Visual Studio that is so compelling, it won the last Jolt Award in the Coding category. CodeRush's new Find Duplicate Code and Consolidate function is amazing.

From first impression to last line of code, DX2 is a stunning solution.
